In this role, the

MANUAL TURNING AND GUNDRILL MACHINE OPERATOR

will set up and operate a variety of manual turning and gun drill machines to perform a series of machining operations as defined in the job routings.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include but not limited to: Reads and understands blueprint, job routings, setup sheets and standard charts for such specifications as dimensions and tolerances. Must be able to run more than one machine where cycle time permits. Perform Quality Control Characteristics documentation of tolerance zones specified on blueprints. Inspect parts using tools that include, but are not limited to micrometers, calipers, vision systems and height stands. Operate turning and gun drill machines with supervision. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School Degree or GED diploma 0-1 years of experience in a similar position in a machine shop and/or training

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to read blue prints. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, adapt to shifting priorities and meet deadlines. Problem solving and decision making skills and the ability to think independently. Must be able to work in other areas on an as needed basis. Organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to collaborate and work well with others. Show initiative in work by being a self starter, suggesting new ideas for completing a job, giving input as to how to improve the efficiency of a job, and organizing work time in order to complete jobs in a timely matter.
