The Driller Helper performs or assists in performing routine drilling, sampling, and well installation tasks, as well as routine mechanical work necessary to maintain equipment in operating condition. Primary Responsibilities & Duties Assists in all phases of drilling activities Assists with field surveying or other field engineering activities Performs or assists in routine equipment maintenance and repair Prepares sampling and drilling equipment for use Packages and preserves samples as directed Backfills and repairs pavement at completed borehole sites Prepares field boring logs, when required Completes weekly timesheets and expense report documentation accurately and on the specified schedule Follows written company safety policies Performs other duties as requested Requirements Qualified candidates should be safety conscious, exhibit a good work ethic, have a baseline familiarity and/or work experience with the construction trades. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and work outdoors in all seasons. Qualified candidates should also be able to travel ( out of town up to 90% ) and have a clean driving record. Additional consideration will be provided to candidates who possess or who are willing to attain their Commercial Drivers License (CDL).Physical requirements also include arm and hand steadiness and finger dexterity sufficient to operate a mobile phone and write legibly. This position requires walking, standing, sitting, reaching, balancing, bending, kneeling, handling, feeling, climbing, twisting, and the ability to physically maneuver construction sites, excavations, and uneven terrain. Vision, speech, and hearing must also be adequate to perform the essential tasks. Understanding/knowledge of basic math skills is also essential.
