What You'll Do:
Travel and relocate for temporary assignments as rigs are moved; work intermittently for extended periods with minimal time off. Work on rig floor in tandem with Motorman, Derrickman, and Driller; assemble and disassemble drill pipe using ST-80 and tongs while tripping and making connections; work in tandem with rig crew and casing crew while running casing. Operate boom line, air hoist/hydraulic hoists to lift and move heavy supplies, equipment, and pipe. Move casing or drill pipe joints to and from pipe racks, catwalk, ramp, and rig floor as required. Check mud; carries 100-pound mud sacks from storage to hopper and mixes mud in hopper as directed. Repair drilling machinery, pumps, and derrick; racks tools, and cleans drilling floor around rig. Gather drill cutting samples for geologists' review. Perform routine and preventive rig servicing, repair, and maintenance, including scrubbing and painting, when operations do not require presence on rig floor. Assist in erecting and dismantling rigs and associated drill site systems.
What We're Looking For:
Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities High school diploma or equivalent education with six (6) months of current drilling experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. Must be eighteen (18) years of age. English language fluency, verbal and written. Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
