Environmental Technician/Drillers Helper

CGE is seeking a hardworking and reliable Environmental Technician / Driller's Helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with drilling operations, equipment maintenance, soil and groundwater sampling, installation of environmental remediation equipment, and injection of chemicals to remediate contaminated soil and groundwater. This role involves a combination of physical labor and technical support, while following strict safety practices to ensure the efficiency and success of our field operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Handling :

Assist in setting up, moving, and operating drilling rigs, pumps and related equipment. Transport and handle drilling tools, pipes, and other materials. Maintain and clean drilling equipment to ensure it is in good working condition. Heavy lifting is required.

Drilling Operations Support:

Support the driller during the drilling process by handling drill rods, core samples, and other materials. Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the driller. Assist in the collection, labeling, and handling of samples for analysis. Communicate effectively with the drilling team and project managers.

Environmental Remediation:

Assist with excavations, piping, chemical mixing and injections, and sample collection. May require operation of equipment such as pumps, generators, jackhammer, air compressor, demo saw and concrete mixer.

Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Participate in safety meetings and training sessions. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. New hires at a minimum will be expected to obtain OSHA 40 hr HAZWOPER and OSHA 40 hr

SITE SAFETY

for NYC DOB certificates within 6 months of employment.

Qualifications:

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. CDL is a plus. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects standing for long periods of time, bending and working in various outdoor weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Willingness to travel to various job sites with potentially long hours and O/T as required.
