Job Description
Black Diamond Oilfield Rentals is a well-established, Houston-based company. We are a leading supplier of Drill Pipe and BHA Handling Tools for the Oil & Gas industry. With operations across North America, we provide high-quality rental equipment and specialized services to customers in demanding field environments. We are currently seeking a mechanically inclined Inspection Helper for our Midland, TX facility. This position is ideal for individuals with hands-on mechanical experience who are comfortable working with tools, equipment, and industrial products in a fast-paced oilfield service environment. The Inspection Helper is responsible for supporting Inspectors in the preparation of oilfield tubulars and drilling tools prior to inspection by qualified NDT personnel. Over time, the inspection helper is expected to develop knowledge of inspection criteria and methods, positioning them for potential advancement into an Inspector/Operator role within the company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the inspection, cleaning, and water blasting of drill pipe and related equipment Support field and shop inspection operations Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in the inspection process Maintain quality standards and ensure products are properly prepared for inspection Assists with duties on road drill pipe jobs Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Performs other duties as required. Knowledge and Skills At least 1 year of mechanical experience in an industrial, oilfield, automotive, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, or similar environment Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Experience working with drill pipe, tubulars, oilfield equipment, or industrial machinery Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Forklift experience 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 40-50 hours weekly, occasional on call after hours or weekends.
