Job Description

Discover a more connected career Under general supervision, you will be responsible for tracking the drill while in operation, ensuring the bore path is accurate and avoids existing underground utilities. This role requires high technical proficiency, a keen eye for safety, and seamless communication with the Drill Operator. What you'll do We are currently offering a $1,000 sign on bonus if you, as the new employee, stay for 6 months ($500 after 3 months, and another $500 after 6 months) Operate tracking equipment to monitor the depth, pitch, and position of the drill head in real-time Confirm the location of existing underground utilities (gas, water, electric, fiber) before drilling begins Assist in planning the bore path and documenting as-built data upon completion of the shot Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on locating electronics and hand tools Ensure all OSHA and company safety protocols are followed, including the setup of traffic control and work zone protection What you'll need Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a locator Strong understanding of electronics and the ability to interpret utility maps and blueprints. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, walk long distances over uneven terrain, and lift up to 50 lbs Deep knowledge of underground utility color codes and their requirements Good communication skills to coordinate with the operator and project managers Valid Driver's License Physical abilities & exposures
Routinely :
work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
Occasionally :
