Drywall Hanger / Sheetrock Hanger and Finisher Job Description This role focuses on hanging and finishing commercial drywall and sheetrock for modular rooms in a prefabrication environment. You will interpret drawings and blueprints, perform precise carpentry and trim work, and ensure each modular room meets quality and dimensional specifications. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and confidence in reading tape measures and working from construction plans. Responsibilities Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints to understand layout, dimensions, and material requirements for each modular room. Hang commercial drywall and sheetrock accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper alignment, fastening, and finish quality. Perform drywall finishing tasks as needed, including taping, mudding, and preparing surfaces for final finishes. Assist with trim work and carpentry in each modular room, contributing to a complete and precise build-out. Use a tape measure independently to take accurate measurements and verify dimensions throughout the installation process. Work with both wood and steel framing and carpentry elements as part of the modular construction and remodel process. Collaborate with other team members on an assembly-line style workflow, ensuring each module progresses through the build stages on schedule. Maintain a safe and organized work area within an industrial manufacturing facility. Follow established construction standards, quality guidelines, and project specifications for all drywall and carpentry work. Essential Skills 1-2 years of experience as a drywall hanger, sheetrock hanger, finisher, or in a closely related trade role. Proven ability to hang drywall and sheetrock independently in a commercial or residential setting. Ability to read and interpret tape measures accurately and apply measurements in the field. Residential or commercial construction or remodel experience, with exposure to both wood and steel carpentry considered relatable. Experience reading and working from blueprints or construction drawings, or strong aptitude to do so. General carpentry skills, including framing and trim work in modular or traditional construction environments. Capability to work safely and effectively in an industrial, manufacturing-style setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in modular construction or assembly-line style building environments is beneficial. Background in cabinet installation, framing, or related carpentry tasks is a plus. Comfort working with various hand and power tools commonly used in drywall and carpentry work. Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of builders, fabricators, and tradespeople. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, high-quality finishes. Why Work Here? You will join a growing team in a specialized prefabrication environment where your craftsmanship directly contributes to innovative building solutions. The organization is expanding its workforce significantly, offering opportunities to grow with the company and develop your skills in modular construction. You will work alongside a diverse group of trades professionals in a setting that values reliability, teamwork, and quality workmanship.
