•Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Drywall Taper/Mudder and bring your expertise in finishing drywall to life! In this role, you will be responsible for applying joint compound, taping seams, and smoothing surfaces to create flawless interior walls and ceilings. Your skills will help transform raw construction spaces into polished, ready-to-faintly touch surfaces that meet the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. Duties Apply joint compound (mud) accurately over drywall seams, fasteners, and imperfections using trowels, knives, and spray equipment. Tape drywall joints with paper or fiberglass mesh tape to ensure seamless finishes. Sand and smooth freshly mudded surfaces for a clean, even appearance in preparation for painting or finishing. Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and ensure precise application of finishing techniques. Collaborate with carpenters, plasterers, and other trades to coordinate work flow and maintain project timelines. Perform minor repairs on drywall surfaces, including patching holes or cracks caused by water damage or other issues. Maintain a clean work environment by properly disposing of debris and ensuring tools are well-maintained for optimal performance. Experience Proven experience in drywall taping and mudding on commercial or residential construction sites. Knowledge of construction estimating processes related to finishing tasks is a plus. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings relevant to drywall finishing projects. Hands-on experience with plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, and metal stud framing enhances your versatility on-site. Background in restoration industry projects such as water damage remediation or mold remediation is advantageous. Skilled in using hand tools such as taping knives, sanding blocks, and spray equipment; experience with airless paint spraying is a bonus. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while adhering to safety standards and project deadlines.
