The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, finishing, and ensuring the quality of drywall in various building projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilising a range of specialised skills to deliver high-quality results. Applicants should be detail-oriented, physically fit, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Experience in related trades such as roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, or masonry will be considered advantageous. Responsibilities Measure, cut, and hang drywall sheets accurately according to project specifications Finish drywall surfaces by taping, sanding, and applying joint compound to achieve smooth finishes Install corner beads and other finishing accessories to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal Prepare surfaces and ensure proper alignment before installation Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during all phases of installation and finishing Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters, masons, or electricians to coordinate work efforts Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency on site Follow schematics and technical drawings to meet project requirements Assist with related tasks such as plastering or construction painting when necessary Skills Proven experience in drywall installation and finishing techniques Knowledge of construction practices including roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, masonry, and carpentry is desirable Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., trowels, knives) and power tools (e.g., drills, sanders) used in drywall work Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately Strong understanding of safety protocols on construction sites Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail Physical stamina for lifting heavy materials and working in various positions for extended periods Basic knowledge of construction painting or fabrication processes is a plus Candidates with additional experience in related trades or specialised skills will be highly regarded.
