Requirements:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Drywall Finisher / Taper with 5-10 years of professional experience to join our Chicago team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience finishing drywall surfaces to a high standard in residential construction projects. This role requires expertise in taping, mudding, sanding, texture matching, and preparing surfaces for paint while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards Apply drywall tape, joint compound, and finishing materials to seams, corners, and fasteners Perform all levels of drywall finishing, including Level 4 finishes Sand, smooth, and prepare drywall surfaces for painting or final finishes Match existing textures and repair damaged drywall as needed Inspect finished surfaces to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications Operate and maintain drywall finishing tools and equipment Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications Coordinate with project managers, foremen, painters, and other trades to meet project schedules Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards Identify and resolve finishing issues before final inspections
Drywall Finisher Skills/Qualifications:
5-10 years of hands-on drywall finishing and taping experience Strong knowledge of drywall finishing techniques, materials, and tools Experience working on commercial, residential, and renovation projects Ability to produce high-quality finishes with minimal supervision Knowledge of texture applications and patchwork repairs Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing ladders and working on stilts when necessary Reliable transportation and ability to travel to factory and job sites throughout the Chicago metropolitan area Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred but not required Experience with spray textures and specialty finishes is preferred but not required Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required Experience leading small crews or mentoring junior finishers

  • Friday. Depending on skill and experience, the pay rate is from $30

Regular work conditions are indoors and include exposure to dust, cold, heat and humidity. Applicants looking for part-time positions will also be considered.
