Duties Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply paint, stain, varnish, or other finishes using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools. Read blueprints and schematics to accurately determine project scope and color schemes based on color theory principles. Perform residential and commercial painting tasks on interior and exterior surfaces with precision and attention to detail. Execute specialized tasks including stucco application, masonry finishing, drywall repair, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and restoration work. Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project requirements and materials needed for efficient job completion. Maintain safety standards on construction sites by handling tools properly and adhering to protocols during tasks like welding or working at heights. Assist with renovation projects involving framing, carpentry (including trim carpentry), concrete finishing, masonry, plastering, and schematics interpretation. Conduct maintenance tasks such as drywall patching, caulking renewal, or minor handyman repairs to support ongoing projects. Qualifications Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting with a strong portfolio of completed projects. Knowledge of construction estimating processes and ability to read blueprints or schematics accurately. Skilled in surface preparation techniques including plastering, caulking, sanding, and drywall repair. Proficiency with hand tools (brushes, rollers), power tools (drills, sanders), spray equipment (airless paint sprayers), and welding equipment is highly desirable. Familiarity with color theory for selecting appropriate finishes and achieving desired aesthetic effects. Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of safety protocols related to scaffolding, working at heights or in confined spaces. Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimates efficiently. Strong background in renovation projects involving remodeling or restoration work across various environments. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with handyman experience for troubleshooting issues during projects.
