Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Drywall Taper to join our subcontractor team. This role is essential in delivering top-quality finishing work on a variety of construction projects, including commercial and residential builds. As an Experienced Drywall Taper, you will be responsible for applying joint compound, taping drywall seams, sanding, and preparing surfaces for painting or further finishing. Your expertise will ensure smooth, flawless wall surfaces that meet the highest standards of craftsmanship. Responsibilities Apply joint compound accurately and efficiently to drywall seams, corners, and fasteners to create seamless surfaces. Tape drywall joints using various techniques to ensure durability and a smooth finish. Sand surfaces smoothly to prepare for painting or additional finishing work, maintaining a clean work environment. Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and ensure precise application of finishing materials. Collaborate with carpenters, plasterers, and other trades to coordinate project timelines and quality standards. Assist with minor repair work such as patching holes or fixing damaged drywall sections as needed. Maintain safety protocols on-site by using appropriate personal protective equipment and following OSHA guidelines. Qualifications Proven experience as a drywall taper with a strong portfolio of completed projects. Extensive knowledge of drywall installation, taping techniques, sanding methods, and surface preparation. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans with confidence. Familiarity with related skills such as plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and fixture installation is highly desirable. Construction site experience with a solid understanding of safety procedures and industry standards. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
