Our crews handle turnovers, repairs, and make-ready work that gets homes ready for the next family — fast, clean, and done right the first time. About the Role We are hiring a full-time Drywall Repair Tech who can patch, float, sand, and match texture so the repair disappears under paint — then prime and paint the patch so the wall is rent-ready. This is a W-2 position (taxes withheld, steady paycheck, paid holidays — not a 1099 gig). Drywall is the core of this job. Painting is the finish step — you must be able to roll, cut in, and feather a patch so it blends with the existing wall. We are not hiring a painter who "also does drywall." We are hiring a drywall pro who finishes his own patches. You will move from house to house across the DFW area, walk in, scope the damage, and execute — hairline cracks, nail pops, door-knob holes, water-damage cutouts, full sheet replacements, and texture matches across orange peel, knockdown, smooth, and popcorn. We are looking for someone who brings real drywall experience, takes pride in invisible patches, and finishes the job himself instead of waiting on a painter. What You Will Do Drywall (your main job) Patch nail pops, hairline cracks, door-knob holes, and small punctures Cut out, frame, hang, tape, float, and sand larger holes and full-sheet replacements Match textures: orange peel, knockdown, smooth, popcorn — so the patch disappears Repair water-damaged drywall and ceiling sections Prep surfaces: scrape loose paint, caulk seams, mask trim and floors Finish painting (the second half of the job) Prime patches and feather edges so the blend is invisible Touch-up paint over patches — color match, roll, brush, cut in Full-wall and full-room repaints when the patch can't be feathered in Document before/after photos for job tracking Keep job sites clean and organized Requirements Must be 18 years or older 2+ years professional drywall repair experience (make-ready, rental turn, or insurance restoration strongly preferred) Texture matching is mandatory — you must be able to match orange peel and knockdown so the patch is invisible after paint Comfortable with brush, roller, and basic spray gun for primer and patch work Must own your own drywall tools — pans, taping knives (6", 10", 12"), corner tools, sanding pole, mud bucket Must be able to lift drywall sheets, climb ladders, work overhead, and handle dust Must be reliable and show up on time every day Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle required (truck or van that fits a 4'×8' sheet strongly preferred) Must pass a pre-employment drug screen — drug-free workplace Must be authorized to work in the United States This Job Is Not For You If Your patches and texture matches are visible after paint You are a painter who "also does drywall" but can't actually float and texture-match You only want to patch and refuse to prime or paint the patch You are not reliable or show up late You rush prep or sand sloppy Compensation & Growth Pay based on experience W-2 employment — taxes withheld, steady paycheck, year-round work (not 1099) Strong drywall finishers who deliver invisible patches earn more responsibility and higher pay over time Advancement opportunities for reliable workers — lead trim/drywall and crew lead paths available Benefits 6 paid holidays per year (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas) On-the-job training in make-ready and rental turn standards Mud, tape, sandpaper, paint, and primer supplied — bring your own hand tools, work boots, and gloves Opportunities for advancement Professional development assistance Equal Opportunity Make Ready Repairs LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
