Job Description
Position Overview:
Responsible for the general construction work required for construction, renovation, and repair and maintenance in designated County buildings.Job Duties:
Performs all duties required to provide general construction at various county facilities, including, but not limited to painting, installing framing, fixtures, walls, ceilings, floors, doors, trim, and repairing walls, doors, ceiling, floors. Plans and estimates material requirements for specific project or task for general construction. May be required to drive personal or county vehicle to various work sites. Maintain a courteous, helpful behavior at all times. May assist less experienced co-workers and perform other duties as assigned. High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.Experience:
Five (5) years hands-on in various aspects of building construction. Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs): Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in a thorough, neat, and timely manner. Skilled in reading and building from construction drawings. A valid Texas Driver's License to conduct County business. Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials, and be skilled in the care and use of carpentry tools. Maintains a courteous, helpful behavior at all times. Self-starter possessing interpersonal skills required to be a productive team player. Ability to receive CJIS clearance, pass a security check and a drug test, as required. This position is Safety Sensitive and will be subject to random drug and alcohol screening.NOTE :
