Job Description
Overview You must be able to perform drywall repairs from start to finish without direction or supervision. We are not able to train at this moment, so you must be fully capable to handle repairs or your own. This includes greeting and communicating with customers, masking and setting up drop cloths to contain debris, performing repairs, applying texture to match existing surfaces, minor painting, clean up, and briefing the customer about work performed and next steps. This is a great opportunity for someone with professional drywall experience to earn extra income, with the potential for long-term growth. We are a family-run drywall repair business built on reliability, hard work, and doing things the right way, proudly serving the Yakima to Tricities area. This position will begin as part-time or as-needed/on-call and will gradually transition into steady, full-time work as we expand our customer base. How It Works You will independently handle assigned jobs, with support available as needed. We will coordinate with you and our customers to schedule projects based on your availability. As our workload increases, this role will become more full-time, and your schedule will need to align more closely with customer demand. We will do our best to work with your availability whenever possible. This is a W-2 employee position, so you will not need to carry your own insurance as you would as a 1099 contractor. You must have your own tools and a vehicle capable of transporting full sheets of drywall. We may assist with tool purchases for the right candidate. Future Growth We are looking for someone who wants to grow with us long-term. As we expand in the region, you may be provided with a take-home company vehicle, fuel card, and increased compensation. There will also be opportunities to take on leadership responsibilities, including overseeing crews within your territory. Punctuality is critical in this role, and we take customer appointment times seriously Measure, cut, and install drywall panels according to project specifications Finish drywall seams through taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing to achieve a seamless result Repair or replace damaged drywall efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards Coordinate with other trades (carpenters, painters, plumbers, etc.) to ensure smooth workflow Read blueprints and schematics to determine proper installation and material needs Qualifications Proven experience in drywall installation and finishing Ability to read blueprints and understand basic estimating Experience in water damage restoration or mold remediation is a plus Ability to work safely at heights and handle heavy materials Proficiency with drywall tools (hand and power tools) Knowledge of related trades (framing, plumbing, remodeling, etc.) is a plus Ideal Candidate Takes pride in clean, seamless work Communicates clearly and professionally with customers Shows up consistently and takes ownership of each job Works efficiently without cutting corners Is looking for long-term growth, not just short-term work
