Job Description

Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Assist licensed electricians by preparing, staging, and supporting electrical installations in residential and commercial worksites. Under direct supervision of licensed electricians, the position emphasizes material handling, job-site organization, conduit and fixture preparation, and equipment support by applying prior construction and carpentry experience to ensure safe, efficient, and precise installation support.
Specific duties include:
assisting electricians in preparing work areas and materials, including cutting, measuring, and staging supports, fixtures, and conduit; performing minor installation tasks such as fastening brackets, positioning housings, and pre-assembling electrical components under supervision; ensuring accurate alignment, measurement, and stability of mounted equipment; coordinating delivery, staging, and movement of electrical materials, tools, and equipment across multiple job sites; organizing and maintaining tool inventory and staging areas to support daily project workflow; assisting with loading and unloading equipment, verifying materials, and ensuring safe handling practices; supporting electricians during job-site installation, including labeling wires, preparing circuit pathways, and performing basic checks under supervision; documenting material usage, job-site progress, and equipment movement for supervisor review; and maintaining cleanliness and organization at job sites to comply with safety standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
: High School/GED and two (2) years of experience in carpentry, construction, or a related skilled trade involving hands-on installation or maintenance work. Must have skills with the following: 1. Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in construction and installation; 2. Ability to read basic diagrams, measurements, and layouts; 3. Knowledge of basic construction and carpentry practices relevant to supporting electrical installations.
