Job Summary:
The groundwork helper supports the installation and maintenance of underground facilities. Working closely with crew members, ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently. Key responsibilities include digging trenches, laying conduit, pulling cables, and assisting with job site setup and breakdown. Operate tools, handle materials, and maintain clean work areas. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, eager to learn, and able to follow instructions. While prior experience is a plus, on-the-job training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with underground facilities installation and maintenance. Dig trenches for conduit and cable installation. Lay conduit, pull cables, and support electrical assembly. Operate hand and power tools safely. Help set up and maintain job sites. Ensure safety compliance. Load and unload materials and equipment. Maintain a clean work environment.
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy materials and perform manual labor. Basic safety knowledge and adherence. Willingness to work outdoors in various weather. Strong work ethic and reliability. Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions. Reliable transportation and flexibility for varying hours, including overtime. Must be able to be insured under company vehicle insurance policy.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Capable of working in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain. Stamina to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods. Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
Work Environment:
Outdoor:
Primarily outdoor work, often in challenging weather conditions. Exposure to construction sites with varying levels of noise, dust, and heavy equipment operation. Frequent interaction with crew members, subcontractors, and other site personnel.
Safety Requirements:
Comply with OSHA safety guidelines and wear PPE as needed. Report hazards and follow safe work practices. Why Team Kline?
