Position Summary:
The OST Program Helper supports the daily operations of the Out-of-School Time (OST) program. This role assists program staff in providing a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students through supervision, activity support, and basic classroom tasks. Essential Functions & Responsibilities The responsibilities listed below reflect the primary duties of the position; the omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the role. Additional responsibilities that are similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position may be assigned as needed to meet program, legal, or operational needs. Work under the supervision of Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers to support program activities Assist with small and large group activities, including games, enrichment, and academic support Help maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for students Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and organization of materials Support staff in supervising students during program activities Follow program expectations and directions from staff Perform other duties consistent with the scope of the position as assigned Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills Ability to work with children in a positive and respectful manner Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team Basic communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain a safe and supportive environment Reliability and willingness to learn Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
