Job Description
Overview Are you ready to launch your career in the electrical trade? We're looking for a motivated, hard-working Electrical Helper to join our team and hit the ground running on residential and light commercial projects. This is a hands-on, paid position where you'll work alongside experienced, licensed electricians, learning the trade from the ground up, building real skills, and earning your way toward licensure. What you'll do Shadow licensed electricians to learn about electrical systems and best practices Assist electricians with running wire, pulling cable, and installing wiring systems and components Support electricians in connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components Install lighting, ceiling fans, outlets, and circuit breakers under supervision Hook up appliances for power and replace outdated fuse boxes Use hand and power tools (conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, hacksaws, knives) to cut, bend, and secure components per schematics Operate testing equipment (ohmmeters, voltmeters, cable testers) and assist with troubleshooting Perform minor repairs and maintenance under supervision Replace faulty circuit breakers, fuses, switches, and electrical components as directed Follow all safety protocols and use PPE properly on every job Maintain a clean, organized work environment throughout the day Maintain a professional, courteous attitude with homeowners and team members Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. Genuine interest in pursuing a career in the electrical trade. Prior experience in construction or a trade is a plus, but not required. Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians. Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Our customers count on us to show up on time. Valid NC driver's license and a clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check and drug test. Required for our partner programs. Physical ability to meet the demands of the job: bending, kneeling, climbing, crawling, standing, and lifting 50+ lbs. Own basic hand tools (preferred, but not required to start).
