Job Description
Electrical Journeyman We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Journeyman to join our team of approximately 40 employees, including apprentices, journeymen, and support staff. In this role, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, renovation, and residential projects. Your expertise will help ensure all installations meet safety standards and code requirements while supporting the reliable operation of our clients' facilities. Responsibilities Install, wire, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial, industrial, residential, and renovation settings. Perform residential wiring, including new construction, remodels, service upgrades, and panel installations. Respond to and complete service calls, diagnosing and repairing electrical issues efficiently and professionally. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings. Use hand tools, power tools, meters, and other testing equipment to diagnose issues in low-voltage and high-voltage systems. Conduct inspections, identify potential hazards, and perform necessary repairs, upgrades, or maintenance. Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable to local electrical codes. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including inspection reports, maintenance logs, and as-built updates. Support renovation projects by modifying and upgrading existing electrical systems while following established safety procedures. Install and service low-voltage systems, including communication, data, and security wiring as needed.
Bonus Skill:
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), including basic programming and troubleshooting of industrial automation systems. Qualifications Valid Electrical Journeyman license or certification. Proven experience in commercial and/or industrial electrical work. Experience with residential wiring and service work is highly valued. Strong understanding of electrical installations, troubleshooting, blueprint reading, and code compliance. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment. Working knowledge of the NEC and local electrical codes. Experience on construction sites and renovation projects. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
