Job Description
Trident Seafoods is North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. Trident catches and processes virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also encompasses cultured and wild species sourced from an international network of trusted suppliers.
Summary:
The Lead Journeyman Electrician will travel to Trident facilities to install new electrical systems, remodel existing electrical systems, install new and used equipment, oversee electrical crews onsite, and support the electrical maintenance divisions at each respective Trident facility Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs) Installs and maintains all manner of electrical equipment and electrical systems. Troubleshoots faulty or inoperable electrical circuitry and equipment. Oversees crew's daily tasks to ensure on time project completion. Manage timesheets for core electrical construction crew to ensure time is coded to correct budget on a weekly basis Ensure safety equipment and clothing is onsite for crew use Communicate with Electrical Administrator on current and future projects Coordinate with customers (Plant managers and Chief engineers, Production managers) for new installs, heavy maintenance, and equipment upgrades. Coordinate with Trident management for project planning. Maintain a professional contractor to customer relationship with Plant managers, Chief engineers, and Production managers. Assist Plant management and staff to keep the plant running during processing. Advise management on what is needed to maintain a safe and efficient electrical workspace. Advise management of needed equipment upgrades and replacements. Advise management of new electrical safety requirements. Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings Employees working in Alaska are advised to have medical insurance coverage which is valid in the State of Alaska. Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs) 10 years in the electrical field including 5 years as a licensed Commercial/ Industrial Electrical Journeyman. 2 years installing and or maintaining Industrial electrical equipment. High school graduation or equivalent Current State Of Alaska Journeyman's license, (or be able to acquire one before traveling Alaska for the first time with Trident) 2 years of project management and or estimating preferred. 2 years installing and or maintaining Industrial electrical equipment. Must be able to travel to Alaska for extended periods of time according to facility needs. Must be able to work in uncomfortable environments that are unique to Alaska processing facilities. Must be a self-starter, able to manage one's time with little oversight. Must be able adjust travel schedule on short notice. Must be able to think creatively to overcome logistical and environmental conditions that are prevalent at Alaska processing facilities. Work environment (includes travel/on-call): While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.Work authorizations:
