Job Description

Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team and provide essential support for a busy industrial electrical site. Your primary focus will involve the operation, maintenance, and complex troubleshooting of high-voltage infrastructure, automated control systems, and critical backup power units. This position is ideal for professionals with a background in utility, manufacturing, commercial, or industrial electrical work who are eager to engage with sophisticated electrical systems. Primary Duties Execute routine maintenance and complex troubleshooting on various industrial electrical setups. Ensure the reliable operation of power distribution hardware, including switchgear and electrical panels. Manage high-voltage electrical tasks involving 208V, 480V, and higher systems. Identify and resolve issues within PLC-based systems by analyzing sensors, I/O, and error codes to minimize downtime. Provide technical support and maintenance for transfer switches and backup generator units. Utilize technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints to guide installation and repair tasks. Optimize electrical performance by balancing loads and keeping panel schedules current. Install and service cable trays, conduit runs, and complex wiring networks. Promote a culture of safety by strictly adhering to arc flash, OSHA, and LOTO protocols. Maintain precise records and documentation for all completed work orders and service logs. Essential Qualifications Possess a valid Journeyman Electrician License from Alabama or a state with reciprocity. Demonstrate at least five years of professional experience in commercial or industrial electrical environments. Show proficiency in managing electrical distribution systems and switchgear. Handle high-voltage electrical tasks safely and effectively. Apply expertise in PLC troubleshooting, including ladder logic and control systems. Maintain backup power systems and generators to ensure facility readiness. Demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety through consistent use of PPE and LOTO procedures. Exhibit the ability to work autonomously while diagnosing and repairing intricate electrical issues. Preferred Qualifications Seven or more years of experience working within critical facilities, manufacturing, or heavy industrial settings. Proven ability to work with 3-phase 480V systems. Experience managing automatic transfer switches to ensure seamless power transitions. Skill in handling control wiring and instrumentation tasks. Familiarity with industrial monitoring systems or building automation platforms. Current OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Deep understanding of
NFPA 70E
regulatory standards. Site Conditions Work takes place within an industrial facility setting. Tasks are performed in both interior and exterior locations. Expect exposure to varying noise levels, heat, and high-voltage equipment. Strict compliance with safety regulations and mandatory PPE usage is required at all times.
