Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and construction settings using hand tools and power tools. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to accurately execute electrical installations. Work with low voltage and high voltage systems in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards to ensure safe and efficient operation. Use testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues and verify system functionality. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades like frame carpentry or renovation teams to coordinate work seamlessly. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspections, repairs, and system modifications for compliance and future reference. Follow all safety protocols related to construction site experience, including proper handling of power tools and adherence to OSHA guidelines. Skills Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams essential for accurate installations. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automation systems. Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers alongside power tools necessary for installation and repair tasks. Knowledge of low voltage wiring systems as well as high voltage applications ensuring safety compliance. Ability to perform troubleshooting using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters effectively. Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects with a focus on safety and efficiency. Familiarity with NEC standards governing electrical installations in various environments. Strong background in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and electrical system design understanding. Additional handyman skills or frame carpentry experience can be advantageous for versatile project support.
