Journeyman Electrician

Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced journeyman Electrician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs in various settings, including construction sites and industrial environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical systems, safety protocols, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry standards. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings. Utilize tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues effectively. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems. Ensure compliance with NEC regulations and safety standards on all projects. Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate electrical installations on job sites. Troubleshoot high voltage systems and perform necessary repairs or upgrades. Mentor junior electricians and provide guidance on best practices in electrical work. Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs. Requirements Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in both commercial and industrial settings. Strong knowledge of high voltage systems and their maintenance requirements. Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with NEC regulations and commitment to maintaining safety standards. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team on construction sites. Relevant certifications or licenses as required by local regulations are preferred.
