Job Description

Job Overview Hubbell - Chatsworth is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Level A) for our 2nd shift who will be responsible for maintaining the reliability and performance of production equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs. This highly skilled role involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical and hydraulic systems, supporting electrical components, and performing equipment adjustments to ensure efficient operations. The technician works both independently and in collaboration with engineering and safety teams, using blueprints and schematics to guide work. A strong commitment to safety, precision, and minimizing downtime is essential in this fast-paced environment. Pay for this position will range from $30-33 per hour depending on experience, along with a 10% shift premium for all hours worked in the 2nd shift. In addition, as a newly hired employee with the company, you will be eligible to receive a $1000 sign on bonus after the 90th day worked with Hubbell. Health care benefits start on the first of the month following your hire date. The Company will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the LA Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance (FCIHO).A Day In The Life Perform scheduled maintenance on production equipment during service periods and respond to emergency repairs during production. Execute routine preventative maintenance tasks, including inspection of drives, motors, or belts, along with fluid checks and filter replacements. Diagnose, repair, adjust, and test machinery and equipment using appropriate tools and testing devices. Disassemble and reassemble equipment to replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment. Perform basic fabrication work, including machining and part fitting. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform the required maintenance service. Collaborate with Engineering and Safety teams on projects and initiatives as needed. Assist with mold set-up when required. Follow and actively promote all safety policies and procedures. What will help you thrive in this role? Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a large manufacturing facility, with strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics, and effectively use hand and power tools for mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues, determine repair or replacement needs, and follow written and verbal instructions Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and technical guidance Detail-oriented with strong communication skills Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA regulations in a manufacturing environment Minimum of 3-7 years experience working with high-voltage systems (460/480V) Experience with PLCs and basic programming preferred Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to remain mobile for extended periods (8+ hours) in a fast-paced environment, including standing for the full shift and performing repetitive physical activities such as lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and reaching.
