Job Summary The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within an industrial manufacturing facility. This role ensures the reliability and safety of electrical infrastructure to support continuous production operations. Key Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to prevent breakdowns. Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in production equipment, control panels, motors, wiring, and robotic systems. Install and commission new electrical equipment, panels, and systems according to specifications and safety standards. Diagnose and resolve electrical faults using testing and diagnostic tools. Program and maintain Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for optimal equipment performance. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics to guide maintenance and installation work. Work safely with both high voltage and low voltage electrical systems. Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used. Ensure compliance with electrical and safety codes, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Assist in modifying and upgrading existing electrical and robotic systems to improve efficiency and safety. Participate in safety audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or diploma in electrical Technology or related field preferred. Proven experience (2+ years) as an electrical technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, wiring, and control circuits. Experience programming and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). Ability to install electrical panels and work with robotic systems. Skilled in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics. Experience working safely with both high voltage and low voltage electrical systems. Familiarity with motors, drives, PLCs, and automation systems is a plus. Proficient with electrical testing tools and diagnostic equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills and adherence to safety protocols. Working Conditions Work is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures. May require flexible hours including shift work, overtime, 6 days a week, and on-call availability.
