Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, NEC (National Electrical Code), and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilize advanced tools and schematics, and contribute to high-quality electrical installations that power essential operations. Duties Install, wire, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and renovation settings using hand tools and power tools. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical layouts. Program and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation processes in industrial environments. Conduct low voltage wiring for communication systems, security alarms, and control panels following NEC standards. Use testing equipment such as ohmmeters to measure electrical resistance and ensure system integrity. Perform routine inspections of electrical systems to identify issues and implement timely repairs or upgrades. Collaborate with construction teams on framing carpentry, schematics interpretation, and overall project coordination on construction sites. Maintain safety protocols at all times, including proper handling of high voltage systems and adherence to OSHA regulations. Assist with schematic reading for complex electrical circuits and troubleshoot using detailed technical documentation. Support handyman tasks related to electrical needs during renovation or construction projects as required. Qualifications Valid journeyman electrician license or equivalent certification demonstrating completion of an approved apprenticeship program. Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical codes (NEC) and safety standards. Hands-on experience working on construction sites with knowledge of framing carpentry and renovation procedures. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for complex electrical systems. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage wiring, high voltage systems, and schematics troubleshooting. Skilled in the use of hand tools such as wire strippers, pliers, screwdrivers; power tools including drills and saws; testing instruments like ohmmeters. Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces as required by construction environments. Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach to diagnostics and repairs. $30.93 - $37.25 per hour
