Fresno, CA Job Details Full-time $28.00 - $39.50 an hour 13 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Electrical maintenance Full Job Description An Industrial Electrician (2pm) is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in industrial settings. Their role is critical in ensuring that electrical systems function efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. These professionals work in various industrial environments, such as factories, manufacturing plants, power plants, and construction sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Installation of Electrical Systems:
Install wiring, electrical components, lighting, and control systems in industrial facilities. Set up electrical equipment, such as motors, transformers, and control panels, according to blueprints and specifications. 2.
Maintenance and Repair:
Perform regular maintenance checks on electrical systems to ensure proper functioning. Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, including short circuits, faulty wiring, or equipment malfunctions. Replace or repair defective components like fuses, switches, and circuit breakers. 3.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards to prevent accidents and ensure workplace safety. Inspect electrical systems for potential hazards and ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes (e.g., NEC - National Electrical Code). Maintain proper documentation of electrical work for regulatory purposes. 4.
System Troubleshooting:
Use diagnostic tools (voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and circuit testers) to identify electrical issues. Analyze and resolve problems in electrical circuits and systems quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime in the workplace. 5.
Upgrades and Modifications:
Update or replace outdated electrical systems to improve efficiency and meet modern standards. Modify electrical wiring and systems to accommodate new machinery or equipment installations. 6.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work with engineers, maintenance teams, and other professionals to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems with other operations. Report on the status of electrical systems, projects, and repairs to supervisors and management. Other job duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Proficient in reading blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams. Skilled in using electrical testing tools and hand tools.
Problem-Solving:
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities to quickly identify and solve electrical issues. Attention to
Detail:
Ability to ensure systems are installed correctly, safely, and in compliance with relevant regulations.
Physical Stamina and Dexterity:
Capable of working in various physical conditions, including confined spaces, at heights, and in noisy environments.
Safety Knowledge:
Strong understanding of electrical safety standards, risk management, and proper handling of equipment.
Communication Skills:
Ability to effectively communicate with team members, management, and clients about electrical issues and solutions.
Education and Experience:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification in electrical technology is preferred.
Experience:
At least 2-4 years of experience in electrical installation and maintenance, often gained through an apprenticeship
