I WORKING HOURS
: This is an hourly position. The incumbent is expected to work the necessary hours to meet the needs of a 24-hour establishment, must be flexible and available to work any shift, weekends and holidays as needed.
SUMMARY :
The Facilities Technician II is the journey level class in the Facilities Technician Series, under the direction of the Facilities Shift Supervisor or above. This classification performs a wide variety of unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled work in the installation, repair, maintenance, remodel and new construction of buildings, furnishing, equipment, landscaping and irrigation. The Facilities Technician II participates in the installation, operation, repair and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other components of the building trades, systems and equipment. Preferred trade for this position is plumbing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: 1. Works under the general direction of the Facilities Shift Supervisor or above. 2. Maintains landscaped areas by checking for proper irrigation valve & line operation, plant health and overall aesthetics. 3. Ensures that plants are properly watered, fertilized and pruned to maintain proper plant health and appearance. Recommends landscaping enhancements and completes landscaping work as required. 4. Works directly with the landscaping contractor to ensure that their contracted services are performed to the highest standards. 5. Maintains building and property aesthetics making repairs and/or improvements to walls, millwork and other associated wood fixtures with the use of construction hand and power-tools. 6. Patches, textures and paints walls keeping the overall appearance to the highest standards. 7. Prepares surfaces and applies paint and other protective coatings including stains. 8. Inspects and performs maintenance on all casino furniture including slot and dining chairs. 9. Completes general plumbing repairs on sinks, water coolers, toilets, etc. as needed. 10. Assists in completing new plumbing, lighting, construction and equipment installations. 11. Performs scheduled maintenance to equipment, machinery and systems including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC and kitchen. 12. Assists in maintaining operation of all equipment relevant to boilers, chillers, pumps, life safety equipment, air handlers and emergency systems. 13. Ensures casino vehicles and equipment are in proper working order. Performs basic vehicle maintenance including oil changes, belt replacements, brake adjustments, bulb replacements, battery changes and other fluid replacements. 14. Repairs and assists in maintaining all Housekeeping and Facilities equipment, including but not limited to utility vehicles, vacuums, carpet extractors, pressure sprayers, table saws, drill presses etc. 15. Schedules major repairs and preventative maintenance of forklifts and man lift with qualified vendors. 16. Assists in inspecting buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify needed repairs. 17. Replaces light bulbs, lamps and tubes as needed and reports other electrical conditions requiring remedial action. 18. Applies safety procedures related to building trades. 19. Completes Work Requests as assigned. 20. Performs general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting and moving materials. 21. Commits to the Team R.O.C.K. Philosophy. 22. Acts as a role model and always presents oneself as a credit to River Rock Casino and encourages others to do the same. 23. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, department and company policies and procedures. 24. Attends all required meetings and trainings. 25. Always maintains confidentiality. 26. Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
: May coordinate/direct the work of Facilities Technician
I. QUALIFICATIONS
: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. 1. Any combination of education and experience that would provide an applicant with the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential job duties listed above. 2. Must be at a journey skill level with a minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience in one (1) or more of the following areas: carpentry & construction, plumbing, commercial kitchen equipment, electrical, HVAC-R, landscaping and vehicle maintenance & repair. 3. Must be familiar with power and hand tools. 4. Ability to read blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs. 5. Prior welding experience preferred. 6. Prior experience and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within a particular building trade preferred. 7. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. 8. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. 9. Must always present a professional appearance. 10. Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with respect to all matters pertaining to the gaming enterprise business.
EDUCATION
: 1. High School Diploma or GED required. Additional training in the building trades required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
: 1. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. 2. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for this position. 3. Ability to write accurate, grammatically correct, polished reports and business correspondence. 4. Must be able to speak with the public in a professional manner.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
: 1. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
REASONING ABILITY
: 1. Proactively streamline processes for company's return on investment. 2. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 3. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram. 4. Ability to process detailed work and requests for information or assistance in a timely manner. 5. Ability to apply regulatory and procedure doctrine, concepts, and policy to practical situations.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS
: 1. Must have a valid state driver's license and be insurable with the Casino. 2. Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license from the Dry Creek Gaming Commission.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
: 1. Must be able to maneuver around all areas of the casino. 2. Must be able to work in uncomfortable, hot or cold environments, in awkward and cramped positions or on ladders. 3. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. 4. Must be able to work in areas containing high noise levels. 5. Must be able to lift up to seventy-five (75) pounds. 6. Must have manual dexterity to operate hand and power tools. 7. Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, twist and grip items. 8. Must be able to respond to visual and audio cues.

: The work environmental characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 1. This is a fast paced, highly diverse work environment, and the position requires the ability to remain flexible and get along with all personality types. 2. Must be able to manage several priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines. 3. Must be able to respond calmly to customer concerns and questions. 4. Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke.
