Job Description
STATIONARY ENGINEER / MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN
Location:
Call Henry, Inc. @Vandenberg Air Force Base, Launch Operations Support Contract Principle Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of electrical trade functions, such as: installation, maintenance or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution or utilization of electric energy, lighting, lightning and grounding, and controls Test, program, and maintain Fire Alarm system controllers and devices; prior experience a substantial plus. Install or repair any of a variety of electrical equipment, such as: generators, motors, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, heating units, conduit system or other transmission equipment Performs periodic and special inspections on power generators. Troubleshoots complex repair situations and performs maintenance on electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components. Interprets inspection findings and determines diagnosis and corrective action. Repairs associated equipment in control rooms and switchgear, gasoline engines, electric motors, pumps, radiators, battery banks and chargers, air compressors, relays, circuit breakers, voltage regulators, load controllers Monitors computerized load control systems. Inspects and repairs diesel fuel storage systems and natural gas supply systems. May direct and coordinate activities of other (not stationary engineers) in performing tasks directly related to operating and maintaining the system or systems. Generator systems range 5kw to 3000kw. Maintains the requirements and conditions of the (APCD) permit to operate (PTO) assigned to each generator. Perform PMs, working from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications Locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system or equipment Work standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment Use a variety of electrician's hand tools, measuring and testing instruments Perform all operations, PMs, or maintenance within their job group or a lower rated job group, either permanently in an additional job group or temporarily, when trained and directed by management, IAW theLO&SC-CBA
agreement, Article Seven, Sections 4 and 5. Must be a U.S. Citizen and must be able to obtain and hold a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Additionally, must successfully complete Air Force computer-based training modules and sign user agreements.Education, Training, Skills and Experience Requirements:
Certified in operation and maintenance of Gas Turbine Power Plants. Experience at Journeyman Electrician level or equivalent Knowledgeable in Air Pollution Monitoring and Control Systems. Completion of the Power Plant Training Program Ability to read and understand Electrical Schematics. Extensive knowledge of the Principles of Electrical Troubleshooting Knowledge of Electrical Generators the systems they service. Knowledge of NEC Code requirements for low and medium voltage applications (120 to 480 VAC), including: single, three phase wiring systems and schematic wiring diagrams Strong knowledge of OSHA Electrical Safety Rules and Regulations Knowledge of switch gear, single phase, three phase, three phase motor winding and connections, electrical symbols, high voltage transformers, high voltage switch gear, conduit and tubing systems, electrical underground runs and motor control systems Demonstrated ability to work with minimum technical directionOther Requirements:
High School Diploma (or equivalent) Completion of a formal school or equivalent experience At least 5 years experience in power plant operation Must possess a valid CA Real ID Drivers License Must be able to climb, crawl and lift 50 pounds Must pass Background Check and pass Drug Screening Excellent salary & benefits, and great opportunity for growth!Job Types:
