About the
Role:
Skillforce is seeking several Journeyman Electricians who will play a critical role on a night-shift team and a day-shift team performing Electrical Roadwork throughout the DC area. This position requires a deep understanding of the construction and installation of electrical systems for roads, including traffic signals, roadway and tunnel lighting and power distribution infrastructure. Ultimately, this role supports the creation of safe, functional, and code-compliant electrical infrastructure that meets client and regulatory standards.Pay and Schedule:
Pay- $38-40 per hour (Temp to Perm with 6-month probation period) Schedule
Multiple Shifts:
Overnight/PM Shift- 7:00pm
- 3:30 AM. Day Shift
- 6:00 AM
- 2:30
PM Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification. Must have a certification inOSHA 10/30
safety training. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed electrician in the construction industry. Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes applicable to Washington DC. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics. Strong understanding of electrical systems, including wiring, conduit bending, panel installation, and troubleshooting.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with roadwork: installation of streetlights, illuminated signs, and tunnel lighting. Certification in OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training. Familiarity with green building practices and energy-efficient electrical systems. Proficiency with electrical testing instruments such as multimeters, ammeters, and insulation resistance testers. Basic computer skills for digital documentation and communication.Responsibilities:
Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards. Perform routine inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair. Collaborate with construction teams to plan and execute electrical installations within project timelines and budgets. Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using specialized tools and equipment, and implement effective solutions promptly. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project. Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment to minimize risk on job sites.Benefits:
