Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Commercial Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical work, particularly in commercial and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have expertise in electrical systems, power tools, and up to 600V and low voltage applications. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and light fixtures. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical systems, the ability to read and interpret schematics, and a commitment to safety standards. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems while ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). Duties Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with NEC standards. Able to work with a boom lift truck. Troubleshoot electrical issues using tools such as an ohmmeter and other diagnostic equipment. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems. Collaborate with other trades on construction sites to ensure seamless project execution. Perform low voltage installations as required for various projects. Conduct renovations that involve electrical system upgrades or modifications. Ensure all work is performed safely and meets local building codes and regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work environment on construction sites. Qualifications Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician in commercial or industrial settings. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, low voltage applications, and NEC regulations Ability to read and interpret schematics effectively. Experience with frame carpentry is a plus for renovation projects. Familiarity with various tools used in electrical work including diagnostic equipment like ohmmeters. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on construction sites. Valid electrician's license or training certification as required by local regulations.
