The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems while ensuring compliance with all applicable safety standards and regulations. This role is critical to maintaining uninterrupted operations and supporting a safe learning environment for students, instructors, and staff. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, inspect, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components throughout academy facilities. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and implement effective repairs. Perform preventative maintenance on electrical infrastructure and equipment. Maintain lighting systems, power distribution systems, emergency backup systems, and control panels. Support the operation and maintenance of flight simulator electrical systems and training equipment. Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Conduct routine inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with electrical codes. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency electrical issues. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other maintenance personnel as required. Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders. Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable electrical standards. Support facility improvement and renovation projects. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Licensed Electrician or equivalent state-recognized electrical certification. Minimum of 3 years of commercial, industrial, or facility maintenance electrical experience. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, controls, and safety procedures. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation. Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment. Valid driver's license. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in aviation, educational, or training environments. Knowledge of emergency power systems, generators, UPS systems, and building automation systems. Familiarity with FAA-regulated facilities or aviation-related operations. Experience supporting technical training equipment or simulators. HVAC electrical troubleshooting experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced operational environment. Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and regulations. Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions. Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency call-outs as needed.
