The ideal candidate will have experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in an industrial environment. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in power plants, petrochemical facilities, or other heavy industrial operations involving high-voltage electrical distribution systems. Key Responsibilities Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical equipment and systems. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical distribution systems. Maintain and troubleshoot high-voltage power receiving and substation systems , including: 25,000V incoming power 4,160V distribution systems 480V electrical systems Diagnose electrical faults using meters, testing equipment, and technical documentation. Install, replace, and repair motors, transformers, switchgear, breakers, control panels, and electrical components. Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and single-line diagrams. Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and follow all electrical safety standards. Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime. Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company safety regulations. Document maintenance activities and equipment repairs accurately. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent experience preferred. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and troubleshooting. Experience reading electrical schematics and technical drawings. Ability to safely work around energized equipment. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Experience managing high-voltage power receiving and substation systems (25,000V → 4,160V → 480V). Maintenance experience in a power plant , petrochemical facility , refinery, steel mill, or other heavy industrial environment. Experience with transformers, switchgear, protective relays, MCCs, VFDs, and motor controls. Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment is a plus. Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in industrial environments, including confined spaces, elevated platforms, and outdoor conditions. Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts as needed.
