Electrical Trades Instructor Licensed Electrician

This position teaches hands-on electrical training in our Electrical Technology Diploma program, preparing students for careers as licensed electricians in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Instruction includes wiring, conduit bending, NEC code, motor controls, and real-world jobsite practices.

This position is ideal for:

Licensed electricians looking to transition into teaching Individuals with field experience in construction or electrical contracting This position is NOT focused on: Electrical engineering or electronics research roles Purely academic or theoretical backgrounds without field experience Duties include but are not limited to: teaching classroom lecture courses, curriculum development/restructuring, and helping in student success. 6000 hours of recent, documented field experience as an electrician (apprentice/journeyman level) OR possess a combination of an associate degree in electrical and at least 3,000 hours of recent, documented field experience as an electrician (apprentice/journeyman level). Ability to pass a background check, have a valid U.S. driver's license and good driving record Current Iowa Electrical Journeyman or Master Electrician License (or ability to obtain prior to start) Recent, hands-on experience in residential, commercial, or industrial electrical work The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Ability to drive college owned or personal vehicle. Ability to lift up to 50lbs
