- Full-time Position Summary Shellrock LLC is seeking a Journeyman Electrician / Controls Technician to join our growing team.
This position performs electrical installation, troubleshooting, automation support, and field service work across industrial, commercial, agricultural, and select residential projects throughout Southern Idaho. Our work ranges from food processing facilities, dairies, grain handling systems, generators, and automation projects to commercial electrical installations and occasional high-end residential service work. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, solving problems in the field, and taking ownership of projects from start to finish. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems up to 600V Install conduit, cable tray, wire, and electrical equipment Perform service calls and electrical troubleshooting Install and troubleshoot motors, motor controls, VFDs, and instrumentation Assist with PLC, HMI, and automation projects Install and maintain generators and backup power systems Perform commercial tenant improvements and new construction electrical work Perform occasional residential electrical work, including service upgrades, generators, panel replacements, and specialty installations Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics Complete project documentation and communicate effectively with customers Follow all company and customer safety requirements Qualifications Idaho Journeyman Electrician License preferred 3+ years of electrical experience required Industrial, commercial, agricultural, or service experience preferred Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong troubleshooting skills Basic computer skills Experience with PLCs, automation systems, or VFDs is a plus Valid driver's license and clean driving record The Type of Person Who Succeeds Here Shows up on time and ready to work Solves problems instead of creating them Takes pride in clean, professional installations Can communicate professionally with customers Is willing to learn new skills and technologies Understands that quality matters more than speed At Shellrock, you'll work on a wide variety of projects rather than doing the same thing every day.
