Job Description

Master Electrician - New Plant Startup & Industrial Manufacturing Charlestown, Indiana About Us We are a leader in plastic recycling and manufacturing, committed to innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence. As part of our continued growth, we are opening a new manufacturing facility in Charlestown, Indiana, and are seeking an experienced Master Electrician to play a critical leadership role in the plant startup and long-term operation of the facility. Position Summary The Master Electrician will lead the electrical setup, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial manufacturing equipment within our new facility. This individual will work directly with plant leadership, equipment vendors, contractors, and maintenance personnel during the startup phase and continue supporting ongoing manufacturing operations after launch. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone experienced in industrial plant construction, equipment installation, automation, and manufacturing operations. Responsibilities Lead electrical installation and startup activities for new manufacturing equipment and systems Coordinate electrical work with contractors, equipment vendors, and internal plant personnel Oversee installation of power distribution systems, conduit, panels, controls, motors, drives, and production equipment Assist with plant commissioning, testing, and equipment validation Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues during startup and production Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation Support PLCs, VFDs, sensors, relays, and automation systems Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and all plant safety standards Develop preventive maintenance procedures for plant electrical systems Support future plant expansion and continuous improvement projects Help establish electrical standards, documentation, and best practices for the facility Required Qualifications Active Master Electrician license required Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical experience in manufacturing or processing environments Experience with plant startups, equipment installation, or industrial construction projects Strong understanding of 480V 3-phase systems, industrial controls, and automation Ability to troubleshoot PLCs, motors, drives, and control systems Experience reading electrical drawings, schematics, and layout plans Strong leadership, communication, and project coordination skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment Preferred Experience Plastic recycling or manufacturing industry experience Experience with extrusion, shredding, grinding, conveying, or automated processing equipment Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms Experience managing contractors and coordinating installation timelines Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Company van provided Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Retirement plan / 401(k) Long-term career growth within a growing manufacturing organization Schedule Full-time Location Charlestown, Indiana Apply Please submit your resume along with proof of active Master Electrician licensing and relevant industrial electrical experience for consideration.
