Sterling Engineering is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to support maintenance operations within a specialty chemical manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving electrical, PLC, and process control systems while supporting production equipment reliability and plant operations.
Job Duties:
Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and schematics. Commission, diagnose, calibrate, maintain, and repair environmental control systems and processes. Troubleshoot and support PLC control systems, programming, and related controls issues. Install, repair, and maintain manufacturing machinery and mechanical equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment. Diagnose equipment failures and identify root causes of mechanical and electrical issues. Troubleshoot electrical controls, drives, and process-related systems. Dismantle machinery and replace defective components as needed. Inspect and measure equipment to determine repair and replacement requirements. Maintain inventory of maintenance parts, equipment, and supplies. Support electrical systems including starters, relays, fuses, contactors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
Qualifications :
High School Diploma required; technical school education preferred. 3+ years of machine maintenance or related industrial maintenance experience. 2+ years of electrical troubleshooting and repair experience. Experience with PLC troubleshooting; PLC programming experience is a plus. Experience with preventive maintenance programs and industrial equipment repair. Knowledge of electrical systems, controls, VFDs, and process equipment. Basic pipefitting experience. Welding experience preferred; welding certifications are a plus. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Experience using hand tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 5 years of maintenance technician experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
