Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Special Projects (SP) Electrical Foreman/Journeyman Electrician who will be responsible for leading electrical service and Special Projects work in the field while serving as the technical authority for electrical installations, troubleshooting, and repairs. Special Projects electrical work commonly supports HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical equipment replacements, tenant improvements, and owner-direct improvement scopes requiring coordinated execution with other trades. This role requires expert-level understanding of electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and blueprints, along with the ability to lead crews, work safely around energized electrical systems, and execute high-quality installations. Lead electricians coordinate installation workflow, ensure strict adherence to awarded project scope, and maintain compliance with NEC, local AHJ requirements, and Mission Mechanical installation standards. This role also includes mentoring less-experienced electricians and apprentices while contributing electrical expertise to the broader Special Projects team. SP Electrical Foremen oversee installation crews, coordinate jobsite activities with mechanical and plumbing trades, ensure code compliance, and maintain installation craftsmanship quality throughout the project lifecycle. Essential Functions Lead electrical installation and service work for Special Projects including equipment replacements, tenant improvements, and mechanical support scopes. Install conduit, wiring, disconnects, panels, breakers, transformers, and electrical distribution equipment. Provide electrical connections for HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment including RTUs, split systems, pumps, boilers, exhaust fans, refrigeration systems, and related equipment. Interpret electrical blueprints, one-line diagrams, control schematics, equipment submittals, and project specifications. Perform accurate electrical layout, conduit routing, and installation planning. Install and terminate line voltage and low-voltage wiring including motor controls, BAS interfaces, control wiring, and VFD connections. Perform equipment shutdown procedures, make-safe processes, disconnect and reconnect work, and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures in accordance with electrical safety standards. Verify electrical installations meet NEC requirements, local code requirements, and manufacturer specifications. Work safely around energized equipment using proper PPE and electrical safety procedures when required. Coordinate electrical installation activities with other trades and project management to maintain project schedule and workflow. Maintain organized, safe, and professional jobsite conditions. Assist with field quoting for approved change orders when conditions differ from the original awarded scope. Perform material takeoffs and assist with procurement when requested by supervisors. Create or support purchase order requests for electrical materials and equipment as required. Follow Mission Mechanical Special Projects processes and procedures outlined in Service Binder and project playbook. Document work progress, installations, and jobsite conditions using ServiceTitan notes, photos, and document tools. Mentor less-experienced electricians and apprentices by providing training in installation techniques, safety practices, and code requirements. SP Electrical Foremen coordinate installation crews, assign tasks, manage job sequencing, and ensure project completion in alignment with project plans and safety standards. Education/Knowledge/Skills Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 5-7 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience. Journeyman or Master Electrical License required (or in process where applicable). Expert of interpreting electrical blueprints, one-line diagrams, control schematics, and equipment submittals. Ability to properly size and install breakers, wire, conduit, panels, switchgear, transformers, and disconnects. Strong understanding of line voltage systems (120V-480V) and low-voltage systems including controls, communications, BAS interfaces, and fire alarm support. Knowledge of motor controls, starters, VFDs, and control wiring systems. Experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting electrical equipment in energized panels using proper PPE and safety procedures. Programming and configuration experience with applicable electrical controls and devices. Ability to perform accurate electrical layout, conduit routing, and material takeoffs. Capable of leading crews, assigning tasks, and maintaining productivity and morale. Proficient in ServiceTitan including time tracking, job notes, photos, equipment entry, and closeout documentation. OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred. Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record. Required to possess reasonable trade-specific tools. Strict adherence to company safety policies and jobsite PPE requirements is required. Schedule An 8-hour shift is typical. Some overtime may be required. Monday through Friday is typical; Occasional evening/weekend work may be required depending on demand. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods. Ability to climb step, extension, and fixed ladders, work at heights, and safely access rooftops. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds independently, or more with proper assistance or lifting equipment. Ability to use hands for fine manipulation of small tools, wiring, and components. Ability to reach overhead and work in confined spaces (attics, crawl spaces, panels). Ability to distinguish colors accurately (important for identifying wiring and circuits). Ability to work in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise). Tasks may require kneeling, crouching, bending, crawling, climbing, and prolonged standing throughout the workday. Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in electrical work Safety Requirements Ability to follow safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and regulations Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and arc-flash protection Work Environment Comfortable working around energized electrical systems and open electrical panels while following all required safety protocols and PPE requirements.
