Automation Machine Tool Electrician

Job Overview:

As a nationwide recruiter, I've got multiple Automation Machine Tool Electrician opportunities - in the Lafayette, IN metro area!

Note:

This is NOT a general maintenance mechanic position. We are looking for CNC Machine electrical specialists! Further, these opportunities come with a $5K sign-on bonus and relocation assistance, and specifically are for 2d (3:30pm-11:30pm) and 3d (11:30pm-7:30am) shift, with a 6% shift premium.

Key Responsibilities:

Service and repair a diverse range of CNC and conventional machine tools, grinding equipment, and large-format machining centers across a high-volume machine shop environment Maintain and repair associated plant equipment including overhead cranes and hoists, conveyor systems, industrial washers, heat treat furnaces, and robotic work cells Install, troubleshoot, and maintain hydraulic systems, ball screws, precision bearings, and various CNC/PLC controllers Interpret CNC Machine tool prints and engineering drawings; work to close tolerances with a high degree of accuracy Apply expertise in machine leveling and geometric alignment, shaft and gear alignment, lubrication systems, welding, pipefitting, and tube bending Perform electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs using appropriate hand and power tools Operate effectively as a self-directed team contributor in a fast-paced CNC Machine shop environment; available and willing to support overtime as production demands require

Primary Required Qualifications:

Completed mechanical apprenticeship OR equivalent high-level experience Experience conducting mechanical troubleshooting of large CNC machining centers Experience with Siemens 840C / 840D and Fanuc controls Experience with Machine Tool OEM's "Burkhardt & Weber", "Waldrich Coburg (Waco)" and "Ingersoll" large machining centers Experience with ball screw repair / spindle repair / laser alignment Comfortable in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
