Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial, industrial, and construction sites. Your expertise will ensure that electrical infrastructure is safe, efficient, and compliant with all relevant codes and standards. Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, schematics, and blueprints. Read and interpret technical drawings such as schematics and construction blueprints to accurately execute electrical layouts. Work with low voltage and high voltage systems, ensuring all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards. Utilize testing equipment like ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues effectively. Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for industrial automation projects. Collaborate with construction teams during renovation and new build projects to ensure seamless electrical integration. Maintain safety protocols at all times, especially when working on construction sites or with high voltage systems. Document work performed through detailed reports and logs for project tracking and compliance purposes. Qualifications Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification recognized in your jurisdiction is preferred. Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician working on construction sites or renovation projects. Strong knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and safety practices. Hands-on experience with low voltage systems, schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and troubleshooting electrical circuits. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing devices essential for electrical diagnostics. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation systems is highly desirable. Ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces while adhering to safety regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance and repairs.
