Electrician Technology Instructor (9-Month) Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) serves the communities of Central Louisiana through five campuses—Alexandria Main Campus, Huey P. Long Campus (Winnfield), Ferriday Campus, Rod Brady Campus (Jena), and Ward H. Nash Avoyelles Campus (Cottonport)—as well as multiple correctional instructional sites. Position is domiciled at the Avoyelles Campus .
SUMMARY :
The Electrician Technology Instructor reports to the assigned Program Dean. Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered professional to serve as an Instructor of Electrician Technology. This role is more than a teaching position; it is an opportunity to act as a catalyst for career transformation, preparing students in Central Louisiana to power the future of our region and state. The Electrician Technology program at CLTCC is a vital engine for the Louisiana economy. By equipping students with mastery over the National Electrical Code (NEC), residential and commercial wiring, and industrial motor controls, this program addresses the critical demand for skilled labor within the national energy and construction sectors. In Central Louisiana, our graduates are the backbone of local infrastructure. This position ensures that our students are not just "job-ready," but "career-ready," gaining the specialized skills necessary to secure high-wage employment that supports their families and strengthens the broader economic resilience of our state.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional Excellence:
Preparing and delivering high-quality lectures and hands-on laboratory exercises that reflect current industry standards and safety protocols.
Mentorship & Advising:
Guiding students through their academic journey, providing career counsel, and fostering the professional "soft skills" required in today's workforce.
Curriculum Development:
Ensuring coursework remains academically rigorous and aligned with the evolving needs of our business and industry partners.
Engagement:
Facilitating meaningful classroom discussions and leading practical, real-world applications of electrical theory.
Administrative Oversight:
Managing assignments, grading, and maintaining accurate student records with a commitment to academic integrity. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
An in-depth knowledge and experience in electrical lines, basic electrical, OSHA safety and FA/CPR. National and Regional Accreditation standards related to Academic Affairs Excellent written, oral presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent (e.g. GED) A minimum of four years of work experience as an electrician with appropriate certifications. Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Preferred (Desired)
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Electrical Technology, Technical Studies One year of instructor/training experience National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Electrical Certifications Project management experience
Additional Requirements :
