Lead Electrician / Certified Journeyman Electrician Job Description This role leads electrical work on commercial and residential projects, overseeing installation, troubleshooting, and completion of electrical systems from start to finish. The position requires a hands-on electrician who can run and bend conduit, pull wire, interpret blueprints, and support safe, efficient project execution while working extended shifts throughout the week. Responsibilities Lead day-to-day electrical tasks on commercial and residential projects, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards. Run and bend conduit up to 4 inches, using appropriate tools and techniques to meet project specifications. Install and manage cord drops and switchboards as required by project plans. Run, pull, and terminate electrical wiring and cable for various systems, including low-voltage applications. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics to plan and execute installations accurately. Perform panel wiring and electrical wiring tasks in accordance with applicable codes and best practices. Troubleshoot electrical issues on-site and implement effective solutions to keep projects on schedule. Operate lifts and other necessary equipment safely when working at heights or in elevated areas. Collaborate with foremen, crew members, and other trades to coordinate work and maintain a productive job site. Maintain a professional and presentable appearance while representing the company on active job sites. Follow all site-specific safety procedures and guidelines, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective gear. Essential Skills Proven experience as an electrician in commercial and residential construction environments. Ability to run and bend conduit up to 4 inches. Strong skills in running, pulling, and terminating electrical wire and cable. Ability to install and work with switchboards and cord drops. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics. Experience with panel wiring and general electrical wiring. Hands-on experience with low-voltage electrical work. Capability to troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve issues efficiently. Ability to safely operate lifts and work at heights when required. Strong understanding of electrical construction practices and job site safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications Journeyman Electrician card in PA, DE, NJ, or MD is a significant plus. Experience in both commercial and residential electrical projects. Ability to adapt to different crews and foremen as project needs change. The role involves working with electrical tools and equipment, conduit bending tools, lifts, and other standard construction gear. Team members must present themselves professionally on-site and dress appropriately for the weather and job conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allentown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
