Job Description
Skillforce is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician for long-term electrical construction and maintenance work at a secured U.S. military installation in the Washington, D.C. area. This is a full-time, field-based position with consistent Monday through Friday hours and strong, above-market pay for the right candidate. You must hold an active DC DCRA Journeyman or Master Electrician license and be a U.S. citizen . Because this position is located on a secured U.S. military installation, all candidates must be U.S. citizens and will be subject to federal base access vetting, a background check, and a drug screening as a condition of employment.
Pay:
$74.00 per hour, W-2 Weekly paySchedule:
Monday through Friday, morning shift (exact start/end times to be confirmed at offer) Full-time hours Long-term project with consistent, stable workResponsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, conduit, panels, and fixtures across a large federal installation Bend and run conduit (EMT, rigid, and flexible) per code and project specifications Perform load calculations, circuit testing, and troubleshoot faults on commercial and industrial electrical systems Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and one-line diagrams Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and site-specific federal safety standards Coordinate with project superintendents and other trades on task sequencing and daily work plans Document work completed and flag any code or safety concerns to the lead supervisorQualifications:
Required:
Active DC DCRA Journeyman Electrician license or DC Master Electrician license U.S. citizenship (required for federal installation base access) Minimum 4 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience Ability to pass a federal background check and drug screen REAL ID-compliant identification for base access Ability to perform physically demanding work: lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work from heights, and stand for extended periodsPreferred:
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Prior experience on DoD, federal, or military installation projects IBEW journeyman card Experience with 480V 3-phase systems, switchgear, and building controlsBenefits:
