Journeyman Electrician

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that electrical infrastructure is safe, efficient, and compliant with all relevant codes and standards. Duties Install, wire, and troubleshoot electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments using schematics and blueprints. Read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to accurately execute electrical work. Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment to diagnose issues and verify system integrity. Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and high voltage circuits to ensure proper operation of complex automation equipment. Follow NEC (National Electrical Code) standards to maintain safety and compliance during all phases of installation and repair. Collaborate with construction teams on renovation projects, framing carpentry tasks, and general handyman duties as needed. Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed for project documentation. Qualifications Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a valid journeyman license or equivalent certification. Strong knowledge of electrical systems including low voltage, high voltage, schematics, and blueprints reading. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting electrical circuits. Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and saws; testing equipment like ohmmeters. Ability to read technical drawings accurately and follow safety protocols according to NEC standards. Construction site experience with a focus on renovation projects or new installations in commercial or industrial settings.
