Job Description

Job Summary Flex Electric is seeking an experienced Michigan-licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our small, locally owned team. This position is primarily focused on residential electrical work, with occasional commercial projects. The ideal candidate has 7-10 years of experience, enjoys running jobs independently, and is comfortable making field decisions, communicating with homeowners and contractors, and representing the owner on the jobsite. This role includes a company work van, significant autonomy, and the opportunity to work directly with owner. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, jumps in where needed, and shares our commitment to working wholeheartedly through excellent workmanship, honest communication, and dependable service. Responsibilities Run residential electrical projects from start to finish Complete occasional commercial electrical work Perform service work, troubleshooting, renovations, upgrades, and new installations Plan daily work, materials, staffing, and jobsite priorities Communicate directly and professionally with homeowners, contractors, inspectors, and vendors Serve as a trusted field representative of the owner and Flex Electric Make sound jobsite decisions without constant supervision Identify issues early and recommend practical solutions Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with electrical code Maintain high standards for workmanship, cleanliness, and customer service Direct and support apprentices or other field employees as needed Keep the owner informed of job progress, changes, concerns, and customer needs Assist with material planning, scheduling, job documentation, and project closeout Take ownership of assigned projects and help keep work moving Jump in wherever needed to support the team and company Qualifications Qualifications Active Michigan Journeyman Electrician license Approximately 7-10 years of electrical experience Strong residential electrical experience Experience independently running residential projects and service calls Ability to complete occasional commercial electrical work Strong knowledge of electrical codes, installation practices, troubleshooting, and jobsite safety Ability to read plans, identify problems, and make confident field decisions Strong communication and customer-service skills Ability to work directly with homeowners, contractors, inspectors, and vendors Experience directing apprentices or other field employees preferred Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through Willingness to take initiative and make decisions without constant supervision Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Commitment to high-quality workmanship, professionalism, and working wholeheartedly
Pay:
$32.04 - $42.00 per hour
