Leading tier-one automotive supplier About the opportunity Partner with a high-performing team to build, wire, test, and troubleshoot automated tooling, machines, and related prototypes that power advanced assembly operations. Your impact Read, interpret, and apply technical process specifications, procedures, and standards. Fabricate developmental and prototype electronic hardware and critical assemblies. Execute machine/tooling build, field wiring, and debug activities to specification. Assemble and evaluate PCBs, assemblies, devices, and full systems against drawings and component specifications. Troubleshoot at the component level; perform checks and modifications to restore function. Capture and maintain test data; create sketches, schematics, and graphical results. Ensure safe operations and a clean, orderly work area by following safety and housekeeping requirements. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to elevate productivity and process efficiency. Develop detailed written inputs for design reviews, proposals, specifications, work standards, and business processes. Complete required forms, build documents, and reports on time per the quality management system. Coordinate and communicate effectively with customers and vendors. Provide regular project updates to the Shop Manager. Support inventory control by maintaining target levels of components, supplies, and materials. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate's degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology (or related) or equivalent experience. 3+ years with electrical/electronic systems and circuits, testing/troubleshooting, soldering, wiring, prototype builds, and data logging; automotive background preferred.
Preferred:
IPC J-STD-001 and
IPC-A-610
certifications. Technical toolkit Knowledge of electronic assembly standards, including ESD best practices. Aptitude for learning advanced SMT assembly equipment. Ability to interpret complex schematics and assembly drawings and run detailed test procedures. Strong foundation in digital, analog, power, RF, and FPGA electronics. Proficiency troubleshooting to the component level. Experience with DMMs, oscilloscopes, thermocouples, strain gauges, signal generators/analyzers, programmable power supplies, etc. Comfort with common hand and power tools. Professional skills Meticulous attention to technical detail; solid problem-solving and decision-making. Excellent verbal and written communication for team and customer interactions. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, perform under pressure, and meet deadlines. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel. Consistent PPE use and adherence to safety guidelines. Organized work habits and clean work area maintenance.
