Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a licensed Electrician for a one-time job: running a new dedicated electrical circuit to support a stackable washer/dryer installation on an upper floor of a residential home. The space currently has no electrical service, so this job involves running new wiring from the panel to the new laundry location, installing the appropriate outlet(s), and ensuring the work meets local code. This is a single project, not an ongoing position. Duties Assess the existing electrical panel for available capacity and determine the best routing path to the new second-floor laundry area. Run a new dedicated 120V/20-amp circuit for the washer, and a 240V/30-amp circuit if the dryer is electric (or confirm requirements if gas). Install a GFCI-protected outlet per code requirements for laundry areas. Fish wire through existing finished walls/ceilings as needed, minimizing damage and coordinating any necessary patch points. Test the completed circuit to confirm proper voltage, grounding, and GFCI function. Pull any required permit and arrange for inspection if applicable in this jurisdiction. Communicate clearly on cost, timeline, and any unexpected complications (e.g., panel capacity issues) before proceeding with extra work. Experience Licensed electrician with residential experience, specifically running new circuits in finished/occupied homes. Comfortable fishing wire through existing walls without unnecessary demolition. Knowledge of NEC requirements for laundry circuits and GFCI protection. Experience evaluating panel capacity and advising if a subpanel or upgrade is needed. Strong communication skills for a one-time homeowner project — clear quote, clear scope, clear completion.
