Romulus, Michigan, United States Talascend is currently seeking an Electrician for a contract opportunity with our client in Romulus, Michigan. Overview The electrician will oversee the daily operation and maintenance of the campus electrical power and lighting systems, ensuring safe and efficient performance of various electrical and mechanical systems. Responsibilities Oversee the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical power and lighting systems.
Assist with preventive maintenance on electrical, heating, HVAC, emergency backup, and hot water systems.
Analyze system operations, identify malfunctions, and take corrective actions.
Support other mechanics and operators on major repairs and maintenance tasks.
Install, repair, and maintain electrical controls, switching, and motor controls.
Monitor and record the operation of mechanical and electrical equipment, reporting any issues.
Follow safety policies for hazardous materials and maintain a clean work environment.
Perform general maintenance and support duties as needed.
Manage the operation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and lighting systems, including new installations and preventive measures.
Serve as a subject matter expert on electrical, life safety, and fire alarm systems.
Troubleshoot and respond to operational and emergency situations.
Work in accordance with
NFPA-70E
standards and use appropriate PPE for arc flash safety. Perform repairs on heating, cooling, water systems, boilers, pumps, and piping. Prioritize work orders including preventive, corrective, and emergent tasks. Identify and resolve Environmental Health and Safety issues. Complete necessary training requirements and adhere to safety standards. Assist with budget estimates and managing inventory of tools and supplies. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of a high school diploma. Proficiency with basic computer applications such as MS Office and work order systems. Familiarity with BMS and CMMS systems. Skilled in operating electric hand tools, working on ladders, and heavy loads. Ability to work in tight spaces like closets, crawl spaces, attics, and on rooftops. Must be physically capable of heavy lifting and operating required equipment. Prior safety training such as NFPA-70e and OSHA-10. Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education. We thank all applicants for their interest.
