In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and construction sites. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and industry regulations, including the National Electrical Code (NEC). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from renovations to new installations, utilizing your hands-on skills and technical knowledge to keep operations running smoothly and safely. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in commercial and industrial environments using hand tools and power tools. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical projects. Test electrical systems using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to diagnose issues effectively. Work with low voltage and high voltage systems, ensuring all work adheres to NEC standards and safety protocols. Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical installations during renovation or new construction projects. Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections completed, and parts used for each project. Use Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for automation tasks in industrial settings. Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or failures before they occur. Assist with schematic reading and framing carpentry as needed for complex installations or repairs. Support handyman tasks related to electrical troubleshooting or minor repairs on construction sites. Requirements Proven experience as an electrician in industrial or commercial settings with a strong understanding of NEC regulations. Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately. Hands-on experience working with low voltage and high voltage electrical systems. Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, along with power tools like drills and saws. Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) used in automation processes. Construction site experience with renovation projects or new builds is highly desirable. Ability to operate ohmmeters and other diagnostic testing equipment confidently. Strong knowledge of schematics, blueprint reading, frame carpentry, and general handyman skills. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to safety and quality assurance. Valid licensing or certification as required by local regulations; additional certifications in industrial or commercial electrical work are a plus.
